Short biography:
Dragutin Lisjak was born on November 28, 1962. in Čakovec, where he finished elementary school. He finished high school in Zagreb. He graduated in 1989. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb, in the material science field. Until 1991., he worked at the Končar – Tools and Machines factory in technology and construction of aluminum die-casting tools. In 1991., he became a research assistant at the Department of Materials at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture -Zagreb. He defended his master’s thesis entitled “Development of an Expert System for Solving Abrasive Wear Problems” at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb in 1998, and his doctoral thesis entitled “Application of Artificial Intelligence Methods in Material Selection” in 2004. He was elected as Assistant Professor on December 8, 2008. at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture – Zagreb, where he continues his scientific-teaching activity. He was elected as Associate Professor on July 4, 2012. He actively participated in the work on scientific projects: “Computer simulations and materials development” (1997.-2002.) and “Development of materials and processes by computer modeling” (2002.-2006.). In 2007. she participated in the project “Modeling of materials properties and process parameters”. He was the head of two IT projects: “Identification of steel by chemical composition and standard designations” (2003) and “Identification of aluminum and aluminum alloys by chemical composition and standard designations” (2004). As an expert in IT-technology, from 2010.-2012. participates in international project MAS-PLM TEMPUS JP: Master studies and continuing education network in product lifecycle management and sustainable production (Project N° 144959-TEMPUS-2008-IT-JPCR).
2013. won the Rector’s Award for project “Remote Vibration Monitoring of the Machine”. He was the head of PoC6 (HAMAG-BICRO) project “Intelligent Computerized System for Early Diagnosis of Malfunctions of Machines” (2016.-2017.). In 2019, he was approved by the NATO-STO Scientific Project entitled “Development of Simulation Model for Selection Optimum Maintenance Strategy of Combat Vehicles”, Reference Number AVT-SP-006 for a three year period (2020. – 2022.) During his work at the Department of Materials, he continuously participated in the teaching of undergraduate studies in the following courses: exercises in the course Materials I, Materials II, Materials III, Materials in Naval Architecture, Materials in Aviation and Selection of Materials. At the Department of Industrial Engineering, he holds courses in Information Systems, Information Management, Maintenance, Aviation Maintenance, Multicriteria Optimization and Decision Making, and Reliability of Technical Systems. At the postgraduate doctoral studies he holds courses “Intelligent Information Systems” and “Maintenance Management”. At the postgraduate specialist studies, he holds courses in Information Systems, Maintenance Diagnostics, Maintenance Management and Ecology and Maintenance. At the postgraduate specialist studies, he holds courses in Information Systems, Maintenance Diagnostics, Maintenance Management and Ecology and Maintenance. He is a member of the Croatian Society of Maintainers, the Croatian Society for Materials and Tribology, the American Society for Materials (ASM), and the American Society for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). He is fluent in English and passive in German. He is also married and father of two sons.
