Short biography:
He graduated in Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb. At the same faculty he completed his PhD in the field of sociology of deviance with the topic Sociocultural context of cannabis use in Croatia and on that basis he published a scientific book.
Through scientific and research work at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, he promoted the topics of sustainability, group processes and teamwork, organizational culture and organizational models of division of labor. Over the years, he has dealt with the sociological aspects of engineering education, or more precisely, studying the motivational structure of mechanical engineering students, sociohistorical aspects of the character and role of the non-technical field in engineering, and exploring the compatibility of engineering education with the skills promoted in engineering professional practice. His current scientific interest is focused on the study of the relationships between the organizational sectors and the role of interaction patterns at work. He publishes in domestic and foreign scientific journals.
Through lectures he covers selected non-technical chapters promoted in the study programs of the Faculty, focusing primarily on explanation of the importance of social, political and ethical aspects in the implementation of technical solutions in the engineering work. Additionally, he covers organizational topics such as communication, teamwork and group processes.
He is a member of the Croatian Sociological Society and cooperates with actors from the non-governmental sector focused on sustainability and environmental issues. He is a member of the editorial board of the interdisciplinary scientific journal INDECS.
