Short biography:
Gordana Barić was born on March, 21st, 1966 in Zagreb, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb in the field of Economic Cybernetics (diploma thesis „Parametric programming“) and, also, finished the postgraduate scientific study in Organization and Management (master’s thesis „Adaptation to demands of turbulent environment using new organisational concepts). She has been employed at the FAMENA since December 1994, first at the Chair for polymer processing at the Department of technology as a research assistant, and, from the year 2005 at the Chair for production management at the Department of industrial engineering as a university lecturer.
She studied possibility of using the new scientific paradigms that have their starting point in scientific disciplines such as system theory, chaos theory, complexity theory, synergetics, self-organization and others in organisation and management of a modern companies. Being employed at the Chair for polymer processing at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, she was particularly engaged in the analysis of the organizations and management of the plastics companies, and in general, she was researching the current state and specific economy conditions in the plastics and rubber industry in Croatia and in other countries. She was also involved in the transfer of the knowledge that are coming from the field of organisation, management, digital transformation … and other modern trends into this industry.
